Some have already returned to their post-holiday routine, but others have not yet resumed their usual pace.
For Personal Trainers struggling to regain their clients, there are good practices that can be applied.
We have already mentioned here on the blog that there is no magic formula to attract more clients.
But for a Personal Trainer to reconnect with an athlete or enthusiast, it doesn't have to be as complicated as it seems: often, if there is a solid and trustworthy relationship, a simple message reminding them that the professional is ready to help restart training sessions is enough.
Of course, in some cases, this may not be sufficient, and additional strategies need to be adopted.
Let's look at some examples:
-
Use your personal brand
We have already talked here on the BOOMFIT blog about the importance of investing in a personal brand and maintaining a professional presence on social media by creating valuable content and engaging with the audience. It's a way to differentiate yourself in this market and be an "active voice."
If this is already a practice, now is the time to turn that communication towards recovering lost clients. For example, producing content about success stories, quick training tips, or launching challenges to the community. And with a smartphone, you can create various content that will showcase your professional side and improve your relationship with the community.
This content will show that there are people who have maintained their training routines, encouraging others to resume their sessions.
-
Utilize your client list
If you have a list of clients' email addresses, why not make use of it by sending or creating a newsletter for those "inactive" clients, encouraging them to return to training?
Sending emails with useful information, tips, and benefits of returning to physical exercise, or even discounts that can be applied during a specified period, are great examples. You could also send a survey to evaluate the service and understand if it meets the current needs of the clients.
Even a simple message might be enough to show your commitment to the client.
-
Offer a free evaluation session
How about proposing something valuable to the client at no cost?
For instance, offering a free evaluation session so the client can become aware of their current condition or even restructuring their current training plan to accommodate new goals, if any. This way, you show concern for the client’s health and maintain your commitment.
This is also an opportunity to propose a new solution to these clients (such as a post-summer plan with new objectives) and, consequently, charge for new services, or introduce other training methods, like online training, which might fit better with their daily routine.
-
Create dynamic actions
An excellent strategy is to organize events and activities, free or paid, for those trying to resume their routine, creating a safe space for this to happen.
These events and activities could be group classes, themed workshops aimed at this client segment, or even challenges and competitions among clients with a final prize (such as a period of free sessions, tickets to an event, or BOOMFIT equipment, for example). This will encourage each athlete's competitive spirit while motivating them to return to training.
-
Refresh your offer!
Updating knowledge and fitness trends is always an asset for those working directly in this market.
This period can be used to introduce new exercises and equipment into the athletes' training plans, communicating these changes to the community. This will generate interest among the athletes you aim to recover, and existing clients will also have an excellent perception of these updates.
Final Considerations
It's true that there are no magic formulas to attract clients. But waiting for them to return is not a solution!
As a Personal Trainer, the focus should be on offering the best conditions and demonstrating that you are a professional in continuous learning, always seeking the best solutions for your clients.
BOOMFIT can be an excellent partner in this search: that’s why we offer dozens of equipment and accessories, and recently, we have added more equipment to our portfolio. If you have any questions, we are here: talk to our team and together, we will help you grow the services you provide even more.
Happy Training!
